In April, 1899, the Old Feildians Athletic Association was officially formed with the election of the Hon. Edgar Bowring as President. Old Feildans teams were entered in both cricket and soccer leagues in that year. For more than a century the old Latin motto “Mens sana in corpore sano” (a healthy mind in a healthy body) was instilled into the hearts and minds of many generations of Feildians. The Feildians Athletic Association has fielded teams in a wide vatiety of sports including soccer, basketball, hockey, cricket, track and field, baseball and even bowling.
On June 10th, 1928, the Feildians Athletic Grounds Association (FAGA) opened a multi-use facility on Portugal Cove Road. The FAGA has made this facility available to all soccer teams, both male and female, who play under the Feildians Athletic Association (FAA) banner.
In 2011 a group of former and current FAA players and executives met to begin the process of reviving youth programs. That year saw the start of youth programs in both soccer and basketball. A new clubhouse was built in 2012 and future plans include the installation of soccer field turf for our main playing surface. The youth soccer program continue to thrive and grow every year - we are excited to see what we can accomplish!
